ActressHey Nate! Good delivery - I'd just try and fix your lighting so there's no shadows! Shadows are always distracting. I'd also have liked to see you dress the part with a tie and jacket. Helps set the stage :)
Cari Riley
ActressYour opening tone and demeanor were excellent, and referencing the report was a fantastic way to build realism. However, the frequency of the glances became a bit distracting and made it difficult to fully follow your delivery. Reducing how often you check the report will keep the audience much more engaged with your spoken points.
Dale Norman Green
Actor | WriterHey Nate, dressing for the occasion would help sell the illusion, and presidents typically read from a teleprompter to maintain constant eye contact, rather than lowering their gaze. But it was smooth and heartfelt.
Susan Willis
ActressYour delivery was nice but what the other actors are doing to help SELL the role is dress the part. A white T-shirt just isn't Presidential attire. SO think of the characters you are playing and 'dress to suggest' the role so Casting can actually SEE you in the role rather than have to imagine you in a suit and tie. If you have the resources for something like this I'd suggest having the script in front of you on another device very close to your camera. As if you are reading a teleprompter. That would have been totally fine, instead of looking down and up for your lines.
Rachael Brown
ActressNate,
I think you did a good job with this tape.
I understand your choice to look down as though reading a statement. I would've liked to see you get rid of the notes/breifing at some point and deliver the address to the nation straight from the heart.
Good emotion and facial expressions throughout the entire scene. Keep it up!
Chris Marks
ActorIn auditions we gotta try and dress for the role as best as we can without wearing a costume. The President would be wearing a suit. The President would also be reading from a teleprompter on the camera, not from notes on their desk. The kind of details really help with auditions.
Wendy Cyr
ActressNate,
You have a great voice. I would liked to have seen your eyes more, having them up as if you're reading from a teleprompter would have been a nice touch. I also encourage you to at least wear something that suggests the character you're portraying. I've never seen a US President in a T-shirt doing any formal announcements - just a thought to consider. Lean into your strengths with your voice and make sure you memorize the sides.
