Character Description
Everett is a large man, standing at about 6'5", with long, scraggly brown hair and always has a five o'clock shadow. He spent a decade in the Army and has done a few tours in the middle east. He is highly skilled, keeps his strong physique well maintained, has a snarky sense of humor, makes jokes out of things that are serious, and has a habit of sabotaging his civilian jobs because he secretly misses the Army despite his intense PTSD.

Everett has a beautiful wife and two kids, a nice modern home, a great job, and a lot to lose.

Scene Description
Former Army Ranger Everett Bailey meets with General Stockard to discuss a covert mission. Everett has no desire or intention of accepting the new mission, as prescribed by Stockard. Neither one likes the situation, but both pairs of hands are being forced by external nefarious circumstances.

Everett doesn't remember due to his PTSD, but at one point while in Afghanistan, he encountered and killed a Giant with superhuman strength. He is part of a larger government cover up and doesn't know it.

Well done. You made some interesting choices that I have not seen in this selection yet. You took us into the PTSD part of the story and created a life of it. I liked that choice.

Your stillness plays very well for your character-- he is in control of his life. Until he isn't. Then the panic attack is a sharp contrast.

Bryan,
That was fantastic! I really loved your showing of him remembering what he had forgotten. Your delivery and timing and eye control were great. You had a natural and powerful delivery with strong character. Very well done.

Bryan- Great, grounded, & emotionally connected work. My favorite part-your facial reaction after “it’s not dead.” So subtle, but a beautiful transition conveying fear & terror. EXCELLENT! A perfect intro for your bold & well-executed choice to live out flashback. It’s clear you’re skilled w/transitions, so experiment w/adding even more levels throughout. For ex., your first line could be delivered w/humor/sarcasm setting up transition to your annoyed line. You could also play with elevating refusal behind “I want no part…” giving one more peak before transition to dismiss on “good luck on...”

Excellent work Bryan! Loved all of it. Emotional life was full. Clear relationship. Could cut and paste this into a show or film. Great job as always!

Wonderful work! I especially liked how, at the very end as you were walking out of frame, I could see that the scene and conversation stayed with you. Those little things matter so much!
I liked your take on this, thank you for recording!

Bryan, what an excellent tape! You took this character and made it your own.
I loved how you chose to have your character react to the unexpected news. I could feel the terror and it definitely portrayed the PTSD he was suffering from. Good job!

Great job on your tape. I liked your calm demeanor and yet when your PTSD symptoms kicked in, the PTSD battle inside the character was noticeable and I liked it. Thanks for showing us your work.

Good Job! One minor point for me. I like the memory recall except for the cough.

Hi Bryan! I really enjoyed your take on this character. Great listening, and I liked your interpretation of the flashback. I wanted to see a bit more annoyance from you seeing the General for the first time in a while, and maybe have the flashback linger and stay with you all the way to the end. (Maybe in a way that shows that you could not wait to get out of that conversation) Really great work!!
