Character Description
Claire is a deeply resilient and self-sacrificing person, but she’s also burdened by years of suppressed frustration and unacknowledged sacrifices. Her sharpness and occasional bitterness mask a profound weariness and emotional vulnerability that come from carrying too much for too long. She has a strong sense of duty, especially toward family, which has led her to repeatedly put others’ needs ahead of her own, even at great personal cost. However, the weight of these sacrifices has left her feeling stuck, invisible, and resentful.
Scene Description
Claire has spent her entire adult life taking care of her free-spirit younger brother, bailing him out every time his new ventures fail. Tonight, she is over it and confronts him.

ActressReally strong performance!! My only note is that a few times the eye line for Jack was very high - like he was about 9 ft tall. Maybe not quite so high (I always suggest now more than 6 inches from the lens of your camera in any directions (Cell phone cameras are tricky too). Overall really nice job. I loved the various layers - louds and softs Great work!

ActorChristina, you have a dynamic look and this is a good role for you. BUT: You're too profile throughout...until the end. The best moments are at the end but the CD may never get that far. What's with the arm movement at the beginning? If there was some action you were doing it wasn't clear. Stillness in the frame is generally your friend. You're working too hard, almost like trying to escape the frame. In film, you want to draw the viewer into the frame rather than projecting energy out. Just don't try so hard and you'll be great. Loved the intensity! I was waiting for someone to get the intensity of the scene right without overacting it. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this. (my super critical side says that you had a few repetitive gestures that became a bit distracting after a few times, like pointing at yourself) but that's a super tiny thing in light of how AWESOME this tape was. It felt like your pacing had the right amount of momentum with good beats in between, very natural. Super excited to see how it does. Great job again. Can't wait to see more of your stuff!
