Character Description
Francine is a sweet, compassionate woman, always ready to dispense wisdom and understanding to the younger ladies in her charge. Thanks to her personality, she makes for a good manager in the business realm. She garners respect not through brute force but through compassion. Colbie has been working under her for about two years now. Because Francine has seen how hard Colbie's worked and how devoted she is, it pains Francine to have to let Colbie go.

Scene Description
This scene was taken from a narrative about a young woman named Colbie whose life is turned upside down by her out-of-control porn addiction.

In the scene, Colbie's boss, who, earlier in the story, stumbled across a smutty website on Colbie's work computer, is put in the awkward position of firing Colbie. The two women get along fairly well, which makes the task all the harder.

Excellent job Sharon! Loved how you were so connected to your scene partner. Your arc was great - from solemn to concerned to showing tough love. It was very natural and believable. I could see this cut and pasted into a show or film.

One thought - your reader could limit the crying. It might've been a little too much and a tad distracting.

Great work!

Excellent self tape Sharon!
I felt that this was a realistic portrayal of how this scenario would play out.
I love a good introduction and scene set but I feel like you could've done well with even less.
You built the character well and kept a good pace.
If there were imaginary bonus points, I'd give them to the reader who also put in some work on this scene.

Good job! I really liked your pacing. Taking your glasses off was very nice. There was no lighting glare. Here is one note and it is picky. The reflection in the screen was distracting. Here are the reasons why. Your initial eyeline for Colby, we should see her reflection. Later the screen is cracked, but that screen looks fine. I understand self tape restrictions. If you could have moved the camera to the right, catching the edge of the monitor or angle the monitor towards the wall, might solve some of this.
