Elisa Collins as Francine
Character Description
Francine is a sweet, compassionate woman, always ready to dispense wisdom and understanding to the younger ladies in her charge. Thanks to her personality, she makes for a good manager in the business realm. She garners respect not through brute force but through compassion. Colbie has been working under her for about two years now. Because Francine has seen how hard Colbie's worked and how devoted she is, it pains Francine to have to let Colbie go.
Scene Description
This scene was taken from a narrative about a young woman named Colbie whose life is turned upside down by her out-of-control porn addiction.
In the scene, Colbie's boss, who, earlier in the story, stumbled across a smutty website on Colbie's work computer, is put in the awkward position of firing Colbie. The two women get along fairly well, which makes the task all the harder.

ActressYou definitely looked the part and fit the personality! My suggestion would be to change your camera frame to be chest up - we want to really see your eyes :)
David Ray Olivas
ActorSo much warmth and humor in this. You brought mother hen vibes and we could see the pain firing Colby caused you.
I loved the eyes and “clutch the pearls enery” you gave. Well done

ActorAwesome job Elisa! Loved it all. You were so connected to her. Your concern for her was clear throughout as was your discomfort in having to fire her. Loved how you slowed down before dropping the bomb - and really loved the end when talking about telling her husband!
Just one technical thought - I'd recommend tightening your frame to just above your head to mid chest so we can see your eyes better.
Super work!

ActressVery nice and natural. Great job!

ActressGreat job! this was fun to watch. Just one technical note - Try framing a bit tighter - from chest to top of head. That way when you lean forward it's a bit more effective and we can really see you close up. Think of self tapes as your close up moment. Nice work.

ActorGood job! technical things first. Nice frame and lighting. I would sometimes catch a glare in your glasses but it was not horrible. Sometimes you have to be careful about wearing the same color as your background. Yours was ok because you were separate from the back. My biggest point for you would be sound. I could hear you but it was a little low. Especially when you delivered some of the lines, which I liked your choices. If I'm looking to turn up the volume I'm not focusing on you. You added good compassion that the character called for.

ActressMy favorite version of this scene by far!
I love how you take in the environment during the conversation, not wanting anyone to overhear you at certain parts. The whispering when repeating what you saw.
And I also really felt how heartbroken you were over having to stick to company rules in firing her. Really nuanced!
I also want to give some praise to your reader! She’s good! It does make a difference. She added to the scene and gave you more to play off of.
Really good work!
