Character Description
Joel is the ideas guy and by nature spends a lot of time with his head somewhere near the clouds. Part performer, part awkward puppy, he wants to be good with people, but has a knack for sticking his foot in his mouth. His sister Liz is his best friend, as well as his business partner, and he'd be totally lost without her. He's fun loving, mostly carefree, at least that's what he tells himself, and he'd do anything for almost anyone. Shrewd businessman he is not.
Scene Description
Joel and Liz are at their cousin's wedding reception. Unbeknownst to Joel, Liz has also arranged for a brief, albeit, very important business meeting to happen during the reception. Their (Joel & Liz's) company has been struggling to obtain the necessary funds in order to survive the planned expansion and the couple they are meeting with tonight have very deep pockets.
