Ashley Kirkland as Jessa
Character Description
Jessa left her troubled home at 16, winging it to the coast to pursue her dreams of acting. After years of working in less-than-stellar projects, she's finally hit her stride, owing perhaps to being half of Hollywood's new power couple. But when her star boyfriend dumps her just before her big premiere, she can think of no one better to escort her on the red carpet than John, her first love. The problem is he knows the real Jessa, and no one else in this town does. He's not afraid to call her out, but she's also one to dish it right back to him.

ActorAshley, that was terrific work! Your self-tape setup is good all the way, background, lighting, sound, framing. The performance was authentic, grounded and layered - the trifecta. I must say I was surprised to not see more credits on your IMDb page. You're a good actor. Keep going. If you have an agent, be sure to put that contact info on IMDb. Hope you are studying with someone, always. My biggest mistake was to go long periods NOT in class. Stay ready for when the opportunity meets up with your ability. One of the best auditions I've seen here.

Writer | FilmmakerI feel like the scene calls for Jessa to 'maintain control' of the situation. So I appreciate your interpretation. Not overly taken aback by his contrary comments and then right back onto the offensive. Never weak, but a little vulnerable inna good way for a pinch at :44 until he rechallenges. And nice emotional de-escalation with 'tell me about it'

ActressAshley,
I really liked your portrayal. Well done. You had good delivery and energy. You showed the vulnerability and strength of the character, the struggles she'd been through and the battle within. Good job.
