Selase Botchway as Michael
Character Description
Michael is a good guy, but caught up in the transition from one social pressure to another, experiencing a bit of a midlife crisis. As a man who was raised without a manly figure in the household, he had succumbed to a skewed perspective of how a man should be, and is on the hunt for his true masculine identity.
He is the recent recipient of a family home, after the passing of his uncle who left the property to him. It's an exciting time, but a challenging one, as he discovers there is a creature threatening his family's safety and he is the only one who can do something about it.
Scene Description
Michael and his daughter Kylie have a bit of a tense relationship at the moment. Michael and his wife have recently separated, and he is in the process of "finding himself" and seeking real masculinity. Kylie sees right through it, but doesn't have the wisdom to express it in the best way. However, she loves her dad, but is a bit fed up with his hemming and hawing, and just wants him to be her Dad, and to act like it.
In addition, there is an eerie atmosphere as a "creature in the woods" is haunting the house, creating a challenge that brings out the best - and the worst - in both of them.

Actor | WriterFantastic performance. Really engaging. Your personality came through strong. I genuinely enjoyed it.
One thought from the broader context of the script: the overall tone leans a bit more ambient and restrained, so there’s a version of this that plays slightly quieter and more contained. But you couldn’t have known that without the full script.
That said, your characterization was excellent and your instincts were strong. Really nice work. I look forward to seeing more of your performances, Your personality is extremely engaging.
