ActorGood job. Here are a couple of suggestions. Place the child (or reader) to the side of the camera. If the camera is at 12:00, place your other scene partner at 11:00 or 1:00. This will keep your face visible and open to the camera without you looking directly at it. Love you tying up your hair. Great choice here. But instead of pantomiming the assembly of the toy, position the toy parts off-camera. So it appears like you have the action without the distraction of holding nothing. You are very natural. But adjusting this will benefit your read!

ActorGreat job Charity! Loved your connection with your child and engagement with your activity while speaking to your child. Great use of space. Fun to watch!
A couple thoughts - consider moving your eyeline much closer to the camera - 4 or 5 inches to the side - so we can see your eyes better throughout. The pauses were good though could have been shorter. Keep the pace moving and you'll keep the audience engaged.

You did well. I liked your delivery. I would suggest that you don't mime things. If you need to mime - don't let us see that there's nothing in your hands, it breaks our reality and takes us out of the moment. Also, if you keep your other character closer to the camera lense (but not directly at the camera lense) it makes it easier to see your eyes and what the character is thinking. These are things I've had to learn also. You're doing great! Keep it up.

Advice for future tapes - if you have an actual prop - get it out of camera sight as soon as you can as we want to see you perform.
With fake props - keep them below the line of sight as as it takes us out of the scene trying to figure out what you might have in your hand instead of focusing on you.
Pretty good job though overall.

ActorLots of good moments and movement through the scene. One suggestion to consider would be to not mime so much as it took me out of it, or perhaps do it all below camera. Anyway, good stuff - great work!

ActorCharity, you have a good self tape foundation with a good, clear and well lighted background. Framing is great. Place the baby in front of you rather than to the side. That way you're looking forward the whole time. As is you're having to address all your looks / eyes sideways and stand in profile. Put an object next to your camera, even a sticky note, so your eveline is CLOSE to the camera but not looking into the lens. Also consider a wireless mic to get rid of room tone, Better to not leave the frame at the end so the caster is left with YOU on camera and not your backdrop.
