Character Description

Private Pancake has never been one to stand out from the crowd, save for his unfortunate last name. Generally unremarkable in every way - with a sprinkling of awkward - he's a complete and utter stranger to the spotlight. Recently he's been working on becoming a better, stronger man, made evident by his decision to "be all he can be". (Preferred Age range 18-24.)

Scene Context

Few moments in a soldier's career are as terrifying and overwhelming as stepping off the bus at Basic Training and meeting their Drill Sergeants for the first time. It's a rite of passage - and a prime opportunity for those in the distinguished hats to make perfectly clear who’s in charge. As a soldier, the goal is simple: blend in and follow orders. But what happens when you can't? Private Pancake learns this the hard way when Drill Sergeant Hayes zeroes in on him while he stands in formation with the rest of the new recruits. This is a day that is sure to follow him for the rest of Basic.
